Fuerteventura
If resplendent beaches that provide the ideal conditions for
windsurfing and big game fishing are a dream vacation, then
this island is an adventurer's paradise. Just 50 minutes from
Lanzarote by ferry, its wind-swept sand dunes resemble the
Sahara, but its quiet villages and surrounding aqua blue sea are
the main attractions. Outside of most villages, the island
appears deserted with miles of majestic sand dunes and endless
beach front for sunbathing.

Since we had little sun on the day we visited the island, we are providing this postcard view of Playa de Jandia, the southernmost portion of the island - a favorite beach for nude sunbathers.

At some locations, a walk across the dunes from the road to the ocean could take nearly 45 minutes. But here, who's in a hurry?

Isn't this more interesting than a sand castle ~ Sand art on Playa de Corralejo is popular in attracting the attention of children.

The rarity of rain prevents these sculptures from disappearing as one of this town's main attractions.

Besides frolicking in the sand dunes, there are plenty of sports available for visitors such as diving, windsurfing, surfing, deep-sea fishing, jet skiing and glass-bottom boat tours and plenty of amusements to shell out money for entertainment.

Taking the "Good" with the "Bad" is not available on this
island since we only spent one day here.
